New Israeli Fighters come in four types, only two of which are in active duty. A number of fighters are ground-based, adding a cost of 390 MUz to each group for infrastructure and re-usable trans-atmospheric booster rockets.
Most fighters in the New Israeli arsenal are "stealth" fighters, meaning they have hull configurations and non-reflective materials that confuse the targeting computers of anti-fighter weapons. The game effect (and therefore point cost) is identical to that of a heavy fighter. NI uses this PSB for a different flavor.

The Sheir (apparition) was initially a fast scout/courier, used by military and civilian alike. A large number of them and their variants are in use in NI space and/or have been sold to other powers. Recent collaborations with Japan (Yamamoto-AI LTD) resulted, in 2170, in a redesign of the Sheir to incorporate artificial intelligence control. Sheir/Karakau ships require no crew and are controlled by a designated command ship. They may only use a maximum of 6 thrust in this mode. AI-controlled scouts are often used as missile fodder against Islamic Federation SML-laden groups. Variants: Names: |

The Even (stone) is an old design that has seen many upgrades and much action over the decades and is now mainly used in patrol/customs roles. They mainly operate in trios (a shlish, or triplet) comprised of one Even, one Shoter, and one Mikla'at for a heavy puch. A number of variants, including two scout/spyship versions, are in service currently. Even configuration can be changed with minimal spacedock time, so there are no fixed numbers of variants. In the late
2170's the cosmetcally different but functionally identical Tarshish was
built at Naveh shipyards. While crews and contractors take great pains to
differentiate the two hulls, military command uses them interchangeably. Variants: Names: Evens are traditionally not named, but assigned numbers based on their patrol area. Each Even crew, however, chooses its own name, which follows them to whatever ship they are assigned. |

Many a capital ship commander, when faced with heavy fighter or missile attack, has had cause to be grateful to the little Dvora class escorts. Designed entirely around an area-defence mission on an 'acquired' FSE deckplan, the Dvoras pack as much anti-fighter weaponry as most capital ships - even the anti-ship armament is dual purpose. Main drive thrust is low for a small ship but this again fits in with the design goals - no more thrust is required to keep up with capital ship groups, and the space saved by not fitting larger drives was utilised to carry even more AF armament. Offensive conversions of the Dvora were only marginally successful, being too slow for strike ships. Conversions were halted and phased out of service when production of the Zva'ah began. The scout/spy variant Ayin is still in production both for the New Israel fleet and as a sale item to other powers. The Kineret class is a small, fragile fighter transport. Poor performance after initial deployment in 2182 (with a single fighter group) forced a review and redesign, making the ship even more fragile, but able to field two fighter groups.
The class has minimal defenses and is not designed to face any kind of standup fight. Its purpose is to deliver its squadrons of fighters to the desired space and stay clear. The first redesigned Kinerets were assigned to a hunter killer groups with a number of other support ships. They have provided essential fighter support, and were very sucessful when they managed to stay out of the main combat themselves.
Kinerets generally field Ashan fighter groups.

The Sabra Heavy Destroyer's main hull is more sturdy than that of the competing Sharrett's. The Sabra's flexibility comes from the development of adjustable particle collimation coils, which allow the 2xC2 beam wingmounts to each be reconfigured as a 2-arc C3. Due to dynamic balancing, both mounts must have the same configuration.
Realigning beam coils requires an EVA to reposition dual-purpose hull plating, and results in a less efficient armor configuration (Armor grade 1 instead of 3). Though the reduced armor is a drawback, this configuration has become more common during the Intersentient War.
Realignment takes about 2 hours and can be done in-flight. A Sabra with more than 2 points of armor damage cannot re-align to the -B configuration. A Sabra-B damaged past the first threshold cannot re-align to standard configuration. Replacing beams with other weapons is possible but requires a well equiped spacedock and is considered a moderate overhaul.

The Maccabee is the result of revived NI/Japanese cooperation. The effort started as a complete redesign of the Sharon after nearly 50 years, but rapidly evolved with the rising hostilities of the Intersentient War into a heavier, more capable warship concept. Frist launched in 2190, the Mac is in heavy production to supplement main fleet elements and support defense of the Core Systems. It sports modular "wingmount" weapon pods, much like the smaller Sharrett, enabling pairs of Class 2 beams to be replaced by 2-arc P-Torps or re-aligned to 2-arc class 3's. Reconfiguring time in spacedock is similar to Sharretts

A workhorse capital ship, the Tzayad (hunter) and its variants are capable of independent action as well as group and fleet support. The original Tzayad's beam-heavy design allows it to wade into a conflict and dish out fire ship to ship. It is unusual for the NI fleet in that it normally carries a screen generator. Refit programs in the 2190's are considering eliminating the screen in favor of strengthening hull and armor (+4 and +2 respectively for 6 less NPV) in light of alien opponents. The Moladetan under construction will test that re-design.
Primary uses are in home fleets and hunter-killer groups, where the enhanced or superior sensors work to identify primary targets (such as IF convoy tenders) for strike craft.

Gavish class carriers are lightly armed and meant to stay well off the main battle lines after delivering their fighter complement. The enhanced sensor array enables the carriers to assist in command and control of battle from the distances they must keep. After the loss of the Diaspora, additional Gavish's were contracted for to fill the CVL role in the NI Navy, rather than develop a heavier and more expensive design akin to the NAC Inflexible class.
The normal fighter complement
of a Gavish is one squadron of Chermesh Interceptors and three Ashan groups.

The Tzion class carrier is the heaviest carrier class in the New Israel fleet, pending approval of a new, unnamed fleet carrier class. The maneuverable carrier carries reasonable defense capabilities, and the attack variant packs a strong offensive punch. It is one of the few classes in the fleet that sometimes employ screens. The Tzion usually carries one squadron of Chermesh Interceptors, with the balance filled by squadrons of Ashan Stealth Attack Fighters. The class-vessel Tzion is the Weizman

Based on dreadnought designs turned down by the NSL and bought by IMI-Elop, The Rabin and Ben Gurion are the home fleet flagships of the two most populated New Israel worlds (Gan and Naveh). They are designed to either stand off and throw long range beam support, or plow into the center of a combat, survive most anything thrown at them, and dish out equal measures. Rarely venturing outside their home systems, if they are seen in the deep field, it is a sure sign big trouble is brewing. The new Golda Meir, identical to the Rabin, was completed late in 2193 and will flag New Israel's Core Defense Expeditionary Force, in cooperation with UNSC.
Variants:
Ben
Gurion: The Ben Gurion, completed in 2177, is almost identical to
the Rabin, exept for the addition of a single fighter bay, and the replacement
of an armor plate with an additional PDS array. (Mass 201, 80 Hull, 15

Organic Ships - [These designs are compatible, but non-canon, and considered optional background for theNI corner of the FT universe] As Sa'Vasku from Fleet book 2. The organic ship experiement applied bio-applications from terraforming techniques to ship designs. The construction template of an existing ship is used, and the orgainc form is "grown" inand around it. Two such ships were created before theIntersentient war forced diversion of resources to more conventional construction programs. New Israel organic ships mimic the functions of Sa'Vasku constructs, though are based on a mix of "hard" and "soft" technology. NI has not developed equivalents for pod launchers or drone wombs. Ships listed are unique.

Kinetic Weapon Refits - [These designs are compatible, but non-canon, and considered optional background for theNI corner of the FT universe] As the Kra'Vak pressed towards the Inner Colonies, New Israel experienced its share of encounters, both in its own space and as part of the UNSC coordinated Core Defense Force. On rare occasion, weapons and other systems were salvage-able from the renains of battle. Some experimental refits of NI warships attempt to integrate K-Gun technology. Advanced Grav drives are still in the reverse-engineering pipeline. Ships listed are unique.
