BLIND FIELD

[Aaron Teske] (Spacefleet conversion page) WOTW #11

This system is described in the Defences: ECM section.

EFFECTOR

[Charles Taylor] (GZG-L) (updated 17-Feb-2002)

This system is described in the Weapons: EMP section, under Neutralizer.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FIGHTERS

[Lots of People] (various)

All Battlestar Galactica fighters appear to have atmospheric capabilities, some have been observed to have more exotic capabilities, such as FTL drives, cloaking devices, and time travel!

In this section, there will be a brief description of each fighter type, followed by one or more interpretations of the fighter in Full Thrust terms.

STARHOUND VIPER

Viper Fighter

The Viper Fighter is the most common fighter fielded by the Colonies.

DEAN GUNDBERG’S VERSION (Star Ranger's Crossover Web Page)
Treat the Viper as a Multirole (Standard) fighter, except that its secondary movement is 24 mu, rather than 12 mu.
A group of 6 Viper fighters costs 24 points (4 points each).

JOHN LEARY’S VERSION (GZG–L 6 May 2001)
Treat the Viper as a Long–Range fighter, and ALL viper groups have an Ace pilot in them!
A group of 6 Viper fighters costs 30 points (5 points each).

WILLIAM F. HOSTMAN’S VERSION (Full Galactica Thrust Web Page)
Treat the Viper as an Interceptor fighter.

STARHOUND VIPER (LONG RANGE VERSION)

Long Range Viper Fighter

The Long Range Viper Fighter is a heavier, long range variant of the standard Viper.

WILLIAM F. HOSTMAN’S VERSION (Full Galactica Thrust Web Page)
Treat the Long Range Viper as an Long–Range, Heavy fighter.
A group of 6 Long Range Viper fighters costs 42 points (7 points each).

STARHOUND VIPER (RECON VERSION)

Recon Viper Fighter

This is the Reconnaissance version of the Viper Fighter.

WILLIAM F. HOSTMAN’S VERSION (Full Galactica Thrust Web Page)
Treat the Recon Viper as an Fast fighter. Treat CORA as a fast fighter without any weapons.

CYLON RAIDER

Cylon Raider

The Cylon Raider is the most common fighter fielded by the Cylons.

JOHN LEARY’S VERSION (GZG–L 6 May 2001)
Cylon Raiders only have 3 Combat Endurance Factors, rather than 6, and all Cylon Raider squadrons are treated as flown by 'Green' (Turkey) pilots, and thus roll 1 less dice than the number of fighters in the group. When attacking, they only hit on a roll of 6, and only inflict 1 Damage Point (vs. ships), or 1 kill (vs. fighters). On the other hand, they do not check for morale.
A group of 6 Cylon Raiders costs 6 points (1 point each).

WILLIAM F. HOSTMAN’S VERSION (Full Galactica Thrust Web Page)
Treat the Cylon Raider as an Attack fighter.

HOLOFIELD

[GZG-L] (List Discussion) WotW #7

This system is described in the Defences: ECM section.

MECHA FIGHTERS (AKA VARIFORM FIGHTERS)

[Brendan Robertson, and others] (GZG-L Jan-Feb 2002)

These are Multimode Fighters that are usually fitted with Fighter Missile Racks

PLASMA TORPEDO (SPACE FLEET)

[Aaron Teske] (Spacefleet conversion page)

These weapons roll to hit as vortex (pulse) torpedoes, but their damage is handled differently. When they hit, roll 1D6:

Roll Damage Caused
1 Screens hit — one screen (or holofield) generator is damaged.
2 Fire control hit — one fire control system is damaged.
3 Weapons hit — all beam weapons and PDS must make a 4+ threshold check to avoid being damaged.
4 Weapons hit — all non-beam weapons, including Salvo Missile Launchers, magazines, and fighter bays on board must make a 4+ threshold check to avoid being damaged.
5 Engines hit — the ship lurches as the engines are damaged.
6 Hull damage — the ship takes d6 damage, as per a normal Pulse Torpedo hit.

All damaged systems may be fixed with Damage Control Parties as usual. Plasma torpedoes have the same mass/points cost as vortex torpedoes, and can be purchased as small, standard, or large systems with the same effect on range.

ICONS (example):     1-arc Plasma Torpedo  (1–arc)     3-arc Plasma Torpedo   (3–arc)

Comments/Analysis:

[Oerjan] The Plasma Torpedo is an EMP weapon which takes out random internal systems. IMO a "generic EMP gun" would be better than this letter-for-letter translation of GW's weapon.

SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND FIGHTERS

[Dean Grundberg] (Star Ranger's Crossover Web Page)

All Space: Above and Beyond fighters appear to have atmospheric capability.

In this section, there will be a brief description of each fighter type, followed by one or more interpretations of the fighter in Full Thrust terms.

HAMMERHEAD FIGHTER

Hammerhead Fighter

The Hammerhead Fighter is the most common fighter fielded by Earth.

Treat the Hammerhead as a Multirole (Standard) fighter.

STARBLAZERS / SPACE BATTLECRUISER YAMATO FIGHTERS

[Dean Grundberg] (Star Ranger's Crossover Web Page)

All Starblazers fighters appear to have atmospheric capability.

In this section, there will be a brief description of each fighter type, followed by one or more interpretations of the fighter in Full Thrust terms.

BLACK TIGER

Black Tiger Fighter

The Black Tiger Fighter is the most common fighter carried by the Argo/Yamato.

Treat the Black Tiger as a Multirole (Standard) fighter, except that it will only inflict 1 Damage Point to a ship on a roll of 6.
A group of 6 Black Tiger fighter costs 12 points (2 points each).

Tiger II Fighter

The Tiger II Fighter is a strike fighter carried by the Argo/Yamato.

Treat the Tiger II as a Multirole (Standard) fighter.

The Medium Vortex Torpedo is treated as a Pulse Torpedo (see Fleet Book 1, page 7), while the Light Vortex Torpedo is treated as a Short Range Pulse Torpedo Launcher, and the Heavy Vortex Torpedo is treated as a Long Range Pulse Torpedo Launcher.
