The Sabra is the only capital ship in the New Israeli fleet to not mount long-range weaponry. Its original class name was Molatetan (patriot) but the crew of the class vessel insisted upon renaming it because of the ship's resemblance to both the desert fruit and the native Israeli appellation: it's both tough and stubborn, it's more prickly than a porcupine, and if it gets in your pocket, it's very hard and very painful to get out. The Sabra also mounts an area defense anti-fighter/missile array, and is nimble enough to protect both itself and other fleet elements.

A variant of the Kashat mounting two Long Range P-torps (and no other weapons/active defenses) made its first appearance during the Siege of Sol.

Collaborations with Japan (Yamamoto-AI LTD) resulted, in a redesign of the Sheir to incorporate artificial intelligence control. Sheir-AI ships require no crew and are controlled by a designated command ship. They may only use a maximum of 6 thrust in this mode. Variants: Numerous variants exist, replacing weapons with armor and/or defense systems, and/or reducing drive for more systems.
Names: Scouts are rarely, if ever named vessels. AI scouts are designated by number. Crewed scouts are usually named after the crew itself, with the name transfering with the crew from ship to ship.
